Members of the Plum School District Safe & Supportive Schools Committee hope to have all staff and students trained to respond to an emergency by the end of this school year. The committee met Jan. 13 to discuss ALICE — Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter and Evacuate — training. The training is used to educate people on how to react in an active shooter situation. “I believe that the kids need to be trained,” said school board member Vicky Roessler, head of the committee. “I’d like it done by the end of the year.” Read more
