Ken Trump Misrepresents the Truth Again

The National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO) is dedicated to providing the highest quality of training to school-based law enforcement officers in order to promote safer schools and safer kids. NASRO, the world’s leader in school-based policing, is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1991 with a solid commitment to our nation’s youth. NASRO is an organization for school-based law enforcement officers, school administrators, and school security/safety professionals working as partners to protect students, school faculty and staff, and the schools they attend.  For more information go to www.NASRO.org

National SRO Association is RIGHT with ALICE. Ken Trump is Wrong Again.

Ken Trump (widely known for misrepresenting the ALICE program in an effort to promote the services of his one-man consulting company he runs out of his house) published a December 2012 blog calling into question the National Association of School Resources Officers (NASRO) support of the ALICE training protocols.  Ken Trump’s blog posting is a gross misrepresentation of the truth and the comments made by the NASRO executive director, Mo Canaday.  NASRO has and continues to show support for the ideas brought by the ALICE Training. Here are some examples:

The quote in

[Ken Trump’s] blog is not even close to NASRO’s stance regarding ALICE”  Mo Canaday, Executive Director, NASRO

NASRO confirms that Ken Trump misrepresented his comments.

According to NASRO executive director Mo Canaday, “The quote in that blog is not even close to NASRO’s stance regarding ALICE.  As I told Ken Trump…NASRO cannot endorse ALICE training due to the fact that we are a 501c3.  However, we have tremendous respect for Greg Crane and the work that his company does.  The record speaks for itself.  We have had Greg Crane as a breakout session at no less than three of our conferences in recent years.  We are also working with him on a NASRO course entitled; Enhanced Lockdown.  We are having Greg at our conference again this summer [July 2013]. He is very popular among our membership and conference attendees.”

ALICE invited to present at annual NASRO Conferences.

ALICE Training (formally Response Options) has been asked to present at NASRO’s annual conferences 4 out of the past 5 years.

ALICE presentation highly attended at NASRO Conference.

At this year’s annual NASRO conference held  July 16, 2013 in Orlando, FL, the “Enhanced  lockdown” presentation,  which was written by ALICE program founder Greg Crane and presented by Shawn Slezak, was one of the largest attended breakout sessions of the conference.  This was just shortly after Ken Trump claimed NASRO did not, nor ever show support for the strategies ALICE brings forth.
