Chillicothe High School – Chillicothe, OH

There was organized chaos in the hallways of Chillicothe High School on Friday as educators and law enforcement personnel learned survival strategies by way of harrowing active shooter simulations. The two-day active shooter training, taught by the Medina-based ALICE Training, took its participants through several scenarios that had them sheltering in place in a standard lockdown, fortifying a classroom door, fleeing down a hallway, and even throwing objects at a shooter in hopes of disorienting and, ideally, disarming him. In each scenario, one class member was cast as the gunman and armed with a pair of replica handguns that fired airsoft pellets.
