After a recent threat to schools in LA and NYC made headlines, Bedford Public Schools wishes you to know we take safety seriously in our district. “Our number one priority at Bedford Public Schools is safety,” declared Superintendent Mark Kleinhans. “We have taken a number of steps over the last few years to increase the safety and security of our students and staff.” In additional to the traditional fire and tornado drills, each of Bedford’s schools go through lockdown drills. All of our drills are communicated with our local authorities. The staff has been trained in ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate) and has been instructed on how to react to intruders and construct enhanced barricades.
