Kewaunee School District is in the midst of taking the necessary steps to address concerns of shooting incidents at its buildings. Staff members are undergoing ALICE Training, which stands for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate in response to school shootings that have happened in recent years. The switch in approach is part of Kewaunee School District’s update of its safety procedures. Superintendent Karen Treml says the new procedures give teachers more options when a potentially dangerous situation arises.
