Law Enforcement Presents ALICE to Students

Centerville Community School District – Centerville, IA

Students of the Centerville Community School District got their first taste of the ALICE program on Tuesday. The Centerville Police Department, along with the Appanoose County Sheriff’s Office, Centerville Fire Department and ADLM Emergency Management, worked with students at Centerville High School Tuesday afternoon on implementing a new program that goes by the acronym “ALICE.” The Centerville Community School District began training teachers and staff last January on the new ALICE program, which is nationally recognized and endorsed by the Department of Education and International Association of Chiefs of Police as the new standard when dealing with intruder and active threat situations, not only at schools, but other public places.
