Winnebago County Courthouse – Forest City, IA
When it happens, the public may see Winnebago County Courthouse employees running from the courthouse. While the threat won’t be real the scenario will be real enough to training county employees how to respond to a shooter or similar threat in the courthouse, two trainers said at the Dec. 23 supervisors meeting. On Dec. 23 the supervisors talked with Eric Van Lancker and Chance Kness of Clinton County, two ALICE trainers. ALICE stands for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter and Evacuate. Kness and Van Lancker were at the meeting via telephone. The board and county employees would like ALICE training. A tentative training date was set for Jan. 21. Read more
