Another precautionary method Roxbury police and schools will collaborate on is a planned ALICE training in March. The training program – which stands for Alert Lockdown Inform Counter Evacuate – will offer school faculty and police officers methods for how to survive an active shooter scenario in the crucial minutes before first responders arrive. Radulic said ALICE helps individuals prepare for a dangerous situation more proactively. “As the wife of a retired police officer, I understand that there are only moments before a situation becomes out of control,” Radulic said. “In our conversations, Chief Simonetti explained the philosophy behind ALICE.
