Ludlow Public School District – Ludlow, MA
An annual report from the National Criminal Justice Reference service reveals that in just one year, between 2010 and 2011, 31 people were killed inside a school or on school grounds. Eleven of those were school age children. Ludlow high school’s principal Lisa Nemeth told 22news they’ve adopted a new program called ALICE: alert, lockdown, inform, counter, evacuate. It means if there’s an intruder in the building students no longer have to stay locked down in their classroom. Read more
