At the 2014 NASRO Conference in California, Greg Crane, Founder of the ALICE Training presented ALICE Training concepts to the attendees. His presentation outlined the need for proactive response options during violent intruder situations, highlighting examples from the past that illustrate the benefits of this type of approach. “We’re teaching kids to be passive, static targets, and they’re going to be victims,” said Greg Crane. “At Virginia Tech, a lone gunman reloaded 17 times and killed 32 people. While some students were killed while trying to hide in classrooms, others survived with minor injuries by jumping 19 feet from a window.” Read more
