Less than a week after a shooting that killed nine people in an historic church in Charleston, S.C., a two-day training program was held to help organizations respond to possible active shooter situations. Cookeville Police Department Capt. Ken Sircy says all of those five options are strategies that can help people survive an active shooter attack. “What’s unique about the ALICE training program is that it teaches people who are on the scene at an active shooter event to be the first responders,” he said.
