Black Hawk County Higher Education Institutions- Waterloo, IA

ALICE stands for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter and Evacuate. “We’ve strongly encouraged faculty to attend this training, and at this time we’ve had well over half of employees take that training,” said Beckman, noting it’s offered on an ongoing basis. Staff can volunteer to be building monitors and assist the public safety department with various types of emergencies, as well. A scaled-down version of the training is now being provided to Hawkeye’s student ambassadors. Beckman expects at a later point it will be offered to all students. Read more
