Westby Area School – Westby, WI
Staff throughout the Westby Area School District got a hands-on lesson in defending themselves in the event a gunman enters the building. On Tuesday and Wednesday, Aug. 26 and 27, 146 people received ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter and Evacuate) training to better prepare themselves in the unfortunate event that Westby schools would ever be targeted for a school shooting, like those at Columbine High School in 1999 and Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012.
