We want to do everything we can to be prepared on how to respond should a tragic event take place. We have been conducting drills, planning, working with law enforcement officials and developing procedures in an effort to minimize injury or loss of life. This school year all of our staff members participated in Phase I of ALICE (alert, lckdown, inform, counter, evacuate) training. This is a training to prepare for and survive a traumatic event. Our first of four Phase II practical ALICE training events took place last week in which staff from both Shawnee and Tecumseh participated. ALICE trainers reviewed the first part of the training which occurred in August. Next, they went through four different scenarios with all of the staff members.
