Trotwood Police will conduct a training exercise Thursday for a mock active shooter scenario at Trotwood-Madison High School. The training comes in the wake of several prominent active shooter incidents, including the most recent in San Bernardino, California. Police say the purpose of the event is to prepare first responders as well as school personnel to make sure they are ready if the situation arises. All Trotwood school faculty and staff received training for what they should do if they encounter an active shooter seven months ago. Police are using ALICE based training, which stands for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate. Read more
