Bluff Country Learning Center – Hokah, MN

On Thursday, February 5 and Friday February 6 area law enforcement and school officials gathered at the Hokah Learning center for training on the ALICE program. ALICE stands for Alert Lockdown Inform Counter Evacuate and is what officials are now saying should be taught to students in the event of a school shooting. Caledonia superintendent Ben Barton noted that it’s not a topic anyone is comfortable speaking about, but it is the reality of the world we live in. Students are now taught to flee and I saw first hand what a difference that can make.
