Teachers and staff of Fredericktown Schools are being taught what to do if an armed intruder enters their building during ALICE training sessions this week. Personnel from the Fredericktown, Danville and Mount Vernon Police Departments, the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and the Emergency Management Agency were on hand Monday to lead exercises designed to empower school staff. Fredericktown School Resource Officer Rodger Norcross said, “If something violent happens we’ll teach students to get out of the building, to help teachers barricade…it’s empowering.” Read more
