The training program called ALICE is becoming the new standard for strategies against violent intruders and active shooters. An instructor course for ALICE training was held on Tuesday in Youngstown. Twenty one people from schools, hospitals and churches took part in the training on a vacant floor at Mercy Health Hospital. The training demonstrated the different options designed to help people survive. Don McConnell was at the training session representing his church in Kinsman. “Yes, I’ll be training my church on what to do, not just to hide and wait, but do things that are going to save their lives,” McConnell said. “We’re going to filter it down to the student population to train them in ALICE as we go along,” said Lt.
