Local Police Conducting ‘Active Shooter’ Training, Planning

As single gunman tragedies increase in frequency throughout the country, local police are taking action to prevent Huron County neighborhoods and businesses from becoming another terrifying breaking news event. Harbor Beach Police Chief Todd Bucholtz and Sgt. Mike Anderson of the Bad Axe Police Department made a presentation Monday on what is known as “active shooter” at the workplace or in a domestic violence situation. The presentation was attended by about two dozen representing various businesses and entities such as schools, hospitals and health agencies. Anderson presented  “A.L.I.C.E” (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate).
