Marlborough Schools to Implement ‘ALiCE’

The city’s schools are implementing a new, more aggressive approach to shooter lockdowns, as Marlborough will join several local school districts in utilizing the “ALiCE” system. The program will first be rolled out at the high school and once district officials are comfortable with the practice, “ALiCE” will be instituted at the middle and elementary schools, said Superintendent Richard Langlois. “We want to make sure we’re rolling it out effectively,” said Langlois. “It’s off and moving.” A handful of other area school systems, including Northborough-Southborough and Sudbury, have also implemented “ALiCE.” Read more
