Standard procedure when an armed individual invades a campus involves locking and barricading doors, turning off lights and hiding under desks and away from windows while waiting for police to arrive on the scene. “There’s this fallacy that we can all get into a locked room, sit there quietly and wait for the police to get there in time to rescue us,” said Greg Crane, president and founder of the ALICE training institute.
