On Jan. 20, Southmont Schools began teacher/staff training, at the high school level, on the A.L.I.C.E. system for handling a violent intruder situation. A.L.I.C.E. stands for ALERT – LOCKDOWN – INFORM – COUNTER – EVACUATE. Southmont has designated the month of January as ‘teacher/staff A.L.I.C.E. training month’ and the month of February is dedicated to student training.
